How to run a real-time check

  • Updated

Follow these steps to instantly verify if a customer or vendor data matches the IRS database or appears on any of the 30+ global watchlists. To watch a video of these steps, scroll down to the end of this article.

  1. Log in to TINCheck.

  2. On the Real-time check page, enter the information you need to verify in the appropriate fields and click Run check.

By filling in all available fields, TIN, Name, Address, and FATCA, all the data you enter will be verified with only one check. Filling in these fields is not mandatory, it's up to you what you want to verify with a single check.

    Requirements per search type:
    - For an IRS TIN and Name result, enter both a TIN and a name.
    - To search watchlists, such as OFAC, enter the name.
    - For the Death Master File search, enter the TIN.
    - For address validation, enter a full address.

  3. For TIN/Name matching, you may set a custom matching threshold that will be used when you run the check. This is for scenarios where you might not want to use the threshold set in your Validation preferences. To set this custom threshold, select the current percentage and then update the value.
  4. Scroll down the page for the results. Read more about what these results mean.
